Fivium raises £12,400 for Childnet to support a safer internet
Fivium is really happy to share that the team has raised £12,400 for Childnet - Fivium’s charity of 2024. Fivium’s fundraising efforts will help Childnet give young people, families and schools the knowledge and skills they need to make the most out of their time online and to ensure this is a space that is safe for children.
The year of fundraising started with the Fivium team’s biggest challenge yet - running, walking and cycling an epic 4424 mile virtual route around France, following the Olympic flame on its journey to Paris, with every step counting towards the goal. This has been followed by a whole range of other employee-led activities including, bake sales, quizzes, auctions, raffles, and even voting on a new hairstyle for a team member!
Talking about Fivium’s support of Childnet, Fivium CEO Matt Fletcher said “As a tech company we believe we have a role to play in making the internet a safe space, because a safer internet is better for everyone including our customers, our friends and our families. We are taking an active role in working with charities and groups that can help people make the most of tech whilst minimising the risks.”
He continued, “We aimed to raise £10,000. But, typically for Fivium, everyone in the whole company went the extra mile and we exceeded our target, significantly. I’m really proud of the team and our collective achievements across the year for Childnet. It’s great that, on Safer Internet Day, we know that our efforts will help Childnet continue its mission to make the internet a great and safe space for young people.”
Safer Internet Day 2025 takes place on Tuesday 11th February 2025.. Further information on Safer Internet Day may be found here: https://saferinternet.org.uk/safer-internet-day/safer-internet-day-2025
